The Sealink Ferry operates from Cape Jervis, closest mainland point, to Penneshaw which is only 15kms away from Island Beach. Cape Jervis is approximately 1.5 hours drive from Adelaide.

The Gateway Visitor Information Centre, cafes, galleries, supermarket and hotel are all located in Penneshaw. Kingscote also offers all of these services.

Regional Express (Rex) and Emu Airways offer daily flights between Adelaide and Kingscote.

To get to Island Beach from Penneshaw take the main road that heads to Kingscote, approximately 15kms along this road there is a sign posted right-turn to Island Beach.

From Kingscote Airport turn right onto Arranmore Road, cross D'Estrees Bay Road onto Hog Bay Road. The crossing is offset, so you turn right then left. Continue along Hog Bay Road 33 km to the Island Beach turnoff.
